The Village of Qadiya in Iraqi Kurdistan (Northern Iraq), January 2007. Qadiya is located about half an hour by car, south of Zakho. The mountain that separates it from Zakho is called "BE Khair", means "Fruitless or "Without bounty", because, not much vegetation grows there. As the local legend goes, Noah's arch arrived here first, but Noah decided not to land there and went further north and landed on Mount Judi. So, the Kurds believe that Noah anchored his arch in Kurdistan. The next few photos will be of Qadiya, it's people, children and domestic animals
