The Town Of Zakho, January 2007. Zakho is an ancient town that has been mentioned by the ancient Greek historian Herodotus. It is located near the border of Iraq with Turkey. It is a major port of entry into northern Iraq and from there the rest of Iraq. The population is over 150,000, and still growing. The original people of Zakho who were there in the 1960s are a minority now, due to the fact that thousands of villagers resettled in this town after their villages were destroyed in the last twenty something years. In this blog, I would like to show the beauty of this world and leave politics out of it. So, I look for positive and beatiful aspects of everything. The next few slides will be of Zakho.
